Corporate jobs often require that you complete from four to ten, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) statements. List each KSA title on a separate sheet of plain bond paper, and follow it with a description of what you did to meet this KSA and include in each KSA any of these relevant elements:
You must include a narrative that indicates the degree to which you possess the KSA and include as many of the bullets listed above that apply in that narrative. For each work example or accomplishment listed, describe the situation, problem, or objective of the assignment, what was done, and the results obtained. Following the narrative, the applicant must indicate: The duration (date) of the activity, and the name and telephone number of a person who can verify the information provided, if available. Applicants may attach copies of any relevant documents that will help substantiate their statements, such as performance evaluations, awards, or work products. The applicant’s narrative must indicate exactly how these documents relate to the KSA. Don’t include documents unless they are directly related and requested.
Detailed KSA instructions, Sample KSAs and a Comprehensive KSA Checklist are included in the all new 7th edition of Post Office Jobs. You can also visit your local Library’s Reference Department to review this informative book or order a copy on-line.
